Board of Management

Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service Incorporated is an Aboriginal controlled Organisation. The role of the DWECH Board of Management is to help the organisation achieve its vision, strategic goals and objectives, while meeting all the legal and moral responsibilities and requirements accompanying ‘best practice’ corporate governance. The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for the management of the organisation to meet financial, legal, practical and human resource requirements and accountabilities.

The Board consists of seven (7) members following nominations from Full Members of DWECH Association. The Board of Directors are accountable to members, who appoint them and have the power to remove them. Each member is appointed for up to a two (2) year term and is eligible for renomination when the term ends. The DWECH Board of Management meets each quarter of the year.

The powers delegated to the Board are set out in the constitution. The Board retains decision-making powers but receives and relies on advice and information provided by the CEO and Management. The Board delegates authority for the day to day operations to the CEO, who delegates responsibilities and duties to Managers and staff.
